Food was over the moon! Everything about the Italian beef and dog was on point. Plus any place that uses beef tallow for their fries is already winning! You can tell whomever is back on the line knows what they're doing and is making things in house. If you know food or have worked in good kitchens, it's all the little things that matter. Staff was very friendly and took their time answering my questions. If I was a local, I'd be a regular. 10 out of 10 from me!

A fun spot in long grove. HOT Dog sport pepper is made in house.That thing was super spicy and flavorful. It was the star of the show.It was super spicy and I had an excellent vanilla milk shake to cool off with.also they had a delicious non alcoholic beer called Al'sI want a jar of those sport peppers for home.

As a parent of a autism child who's my picky eater he LOVED it here. And our food was also VERY DELICIOUS as well we had the turkey sub and the burger. FRIENDLY AND FAST staff as well we will be DEFINITELY BE COMING BACK . Will also be RECOMMENDING!❤️

This is the first time we're here. Place was wonderful. Clean, staff was so nice. Inside and outside seating brought out to you. Food was fresh and hot. We will definitely be back!!

Just checked this place out. 50s themed diner with summer car show Wednesdays. Staff was great and they had old episodes of classic TV playing on the walls.The food really stood out. For the price, I can't recently remember a place with that much quality for the dollar. The burger was fantastic and the chicken sandwich was enormous. Frozen custard and milkshakes were great as well.

The food was delicious—exactly what you'd expect from American food... The location is awesome. It's very authentic; you feel like you've been transported back to the '50s and '60s. Cheers from Swiss guest✌🏻😎

I was there on a Saturday and ordered an Italian beef with mozzarella, dipped.It...was...amazing!! I have been thinking about it for days! It was big enough to make 2 lunches out of it.

Best burgers and cheese steak in Lake County period

Wow! The biggest sport peppers I have ever seen. And the hot dog was good too. I guess there are other things on the menu, but I went in for a hot dog. And came out smiling.

Stopped in today staff is super friendly, The Philly cheesesteak Amazing! The Chicago Hot Dog very good nice snap to it. I will be Back.

Went there this past Saturday and honestly the food was good, had the italian beef with hot peppers on the side and the beef was very tender and a decent size for the price, Wife had a hot dog but they actually made a mistake on the order she asked for no onions and there was onions on it.And when the young lady walked it over to our table, she called it out by saying hot dog everything on it with no onions lol and the fries were definitely good, will be going back lets just not put onions on her hot dog lol

Such a cute little diner! The staff and food are amazing. They have these adorable little fry baskets full of crayons for the kids and hats for them to color.

So happy we found our Wednesday night spot! The food was great, loved Al’s signature cheeseburger and the fries are incredible!!! The milkshakes were delicious! The staff is so sweet and welcoming! Cheyenne, Stephanie abs Todd went above and beyond with their service and care! My son loved all the cars and live music. Cheyenne took extra special care of us and made my son and daughters night! We can’t wait to go back to our new family spot!

Amazing addition to Long Groove. Great food. Friendly staffs. Super reasonable prices. Plenty of seating indoor and outdoor.We were charged Extra for cheese sauce with fries. The menu said $1 extra for cheese but we were charged $2. It’s not about a buck, its about transparency, should update prices in menu if things have changed.Besides that everything was great. Philly Cheese Steak and Serano Burgers are 🔥

From the beef allowed fries to the high quality burgers to the yummy deserts, this place is awesome! Nice 1950s fun vibe that was cool for the whole family. The prices are exceptional. We will be back again and again!

I tried Al's Spicy Fried Chicken sandwich and the Philly Cheesesteak here for the first time today there was the best I ever have it

Fun new place in town! We had the Philly Cheesesteak recommended to us and were very happy with the recommendation! The cheese and the caramelized onions were so tasty! I’m not big on french fries, but I really liked theirs! The Philly Cheesesteak and fries were big enough for my husband and I to share. The staff were very nice and helpful. We ordered 2 vanilla milkshakes to go for the kids and they loved them. Prices are reasonable too. We will be back to try more!

Such a cute and fun space. The staff is friendly and kind, and fast. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend the strawberry shake. The homemade strawberry pureè with the fresh daily made ice cream is so light and delicious. Todd and his team are great. Looking forward to our next visit.

My wife and I each had the Italian beef huge portion especially for the price, very flavorful, fries great large portions , super friendly service, we ordered to go, very short wait, observed cook asking dine in customers how was the food, unheard of in this day and age. Loved decor, We will return soon also telling family and friends.

Al’s Hot Dogs is so much more than a hot dog stand. The food is fantastic. The burgers are outstanding—juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The Italian beef sandwich with its au jus is one of the best I’ve had anywhere!The atmosphere is fun, casual, and incredibly kid-friendly, making it one of our favorite family spots.One of the coolest things I recently learned is that they don’t cook their food in seed oils. As someone who pays attention to ingredients, that was a huge bonus and something that’s becoming harder and harder to find. They also make their own sauces, which is so rare these days and really speaks to the quality and care behind the food.And whatever you do, don’t leave without trying one of their shakes—they’re absolutely delicious and the perfect finish to a great meal.Great food, great people, great atmosphere, and thoughtful ingredients. Al’s is a Long Grove gem!

We came in with 3 families ( 5 adults and 6 kids). The food was delicious and was delivered to our tables super quick. The staff was so friendly. They brought out the infamous kitchen sink ice cream dessert for our kids as a surprise with a sparkler in it. The kids LOVED it! We will definitely be coming back!

We had a big group with 5 adults and 6 six kids. They were very accommodating and had something everyone enjoyed. We mostly had burgers and hot dogs which were all good. The Als signature burger was delicious! The place is very cute, reasonably priced and family friendly. We’ll be back!

Great local Hot Dog 🌭 stand. The area has long been needing a spot like this. This squirrel 🐿️ and momma squirrel 🐿️ want a place to go and only 3 min from the house 🏠 the have good prices with good quality and portions size. The homemade cake, milkshake and banana 🍌 split 🍨 will make you forget about that diet. Looking forward to coming back

Very pleasantly surprised. Watch out Portillos, while you guys are cutting costs on everything this place just popped up with a LEGIT Italian beef. Delicious meat that was not dry and the bread was soft enough to the bite yet held up to the test of an italian beef. Only comment is the floor is a bit too slick. I will try the spicy chicken sandwich next as I saw one walk by and it was massive lol 😆

Didn’t realize this was a soft opening when I found it on Google. Came here for lunch and the portions are generous and delicious. Josh stopped by along with a few other workers to make sure everything was good. Will be back for sure!

1950's themed hotdog restaurant in Long Grove. Went there to try there Italian beef and ended up trying Philly Cheese Steak instead.Now, for no reason, I became a cheese steak fan because of a restaurant down by Tampa. This cheese steak would be compared to it and criticism would take place if it wasnt close to a Phlly styled sandwich.Well, this cheese steak hit all the marks. Creamy texture, soft bites of steak and the cheese sauce was spot on.I am in LOVE.
