Al’s Hot Dogs has been an awesome addition to Long Grove! So far, I’ve tried the Italian beef, cheesesteak, cheeseburger, and fries, and everything has been absolutely amazing! The food is consistently delicious, and you can tell they’re doing things right.My only criticism is that the wait times to order and receive your food can be a little longer than you’d like, but hopefully that improves as they get settled in. Regardless, the food is well worth the wait!So happy to have such a great new spot in Long Grove. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu!

ABOVE AND BEYOND any catering experience I’ve ever had!We hosted a 1950s-themed birthday party for my daughter and ordered food for 50–75 people from Al’s, and the entire experience was absolutely INCREDIBLE!We’ve hosted many parties over the years, and I rarely take the time to write reviews, but Al’s truly deserves the recognition. Todd was amazing to work with! He coordinated the timing with me and made sure everything was delivered exactly when we needed it.I have NEVER received so many compliments on the food at a party! And when I finally had a chance to taste the burger myself, I was genuinely blown away. I grew up with Portillo’s, and we’ve ordered from them for most of our parties over the years, but honestly, Al’s is on another level. The quality is outstanding!The hot dogs came with every condiment imaginable (yes, even the celery salt!), and the burgers were just as impressive. Everything was thoughtfully prepared, and you could tell how much care went into making the entire order perfect.Most importantly, Al’s helped make my daughter’s birthday party extra special, and we are so grateful to Todd and everyone who played a part in making it such a success.We will absolutely be ordering from Al’s again for our next party! We are also so happy to have a place like this in our area. It’s fun for all ages, the food is phenomenal, and the service is exceptional.Thank you, Al’s, for going ABOVE AND BEYOND. You’ve earned customers for life! ❤️

I've never been to Philly, but this is hands down the best and most authentic Philly cheesesteak you'll find in the burbs. Absolutely Killer!

Tasty food served fresh, with a smile. My family & I stopped in for a late dinner. Well boy were we surprised by the simple menu & warm smiles! Not a lot of fancy here. A nice simple menu, leadership that cares, super friendly staff & a good ole fashioned diner vibe. Looking forward to trying all the headliner menu items over time! Keep up the great work.

Great addition to the area. We really enjoyed the food, service, and decor. Everyone in my family was happy with their meal. The cheesesteak, Italian beef sandwich, and beef tallow fries really stood out. The Italian beef is more like a homemade beef sandwich than a beef sandwich you’d get at other Chicago area beef places. We will be back. Looking forward to bringing my parents here.

We tried the pizza today. It was very good. Definitely going back for that and their cheeseburger and their beefs. Just good food and very pleasant people.

Saw someone review this place on an Instagram reel so decided to try it. I got the Spicy cheeseburger, fries, chocolate shake, and Butterscotch pudding. The burger was very solid, I appreciated that it had a good meat to topping ratio, the bun wasn't anything special but the flavor was on point. The fries were good as well, with a nice balance of crispiness and thickness, they are beef tallow so they are high in saturated fat content so keep that in mind. The shake the was their best item IMO. Most places make shakes too thick which makes it hard to drink out of a tiny straw. The shake here was just right in thickness and the straw they give you has a large opening. And it was only a $5 shake, which is darn good in this economy (We've come a long way since the days of Pulp Fiction). I also got the Butterscotch Pudding since I thought that was a weird item to have on the menu. Honestly probably my least favorite thing the flavor was very mild. Pretty akin to what you would get in a grocery store snack pack, but the same price as the shake. They also have various specials, $2 pizza slices for dine-in on Sunday and $13 whole pizzas on thursdays, which I'll try next time I go. Overall, the food was good and the prices were more then decent in this economy. I did notice they raised the price of the fries to $4, so hopefully they don't raise the prices on their other items anytime soon.

The cheesesteak was amazing. I tried some of the Mac and cheese my kids had and it was actually really good. Cheese fries were great. I’ll definitely be back to try more.

What an experience! All the food is home made and quite delicious plus the restaurant itself is quite the experience. There was something on the menu for the whole family. We will be coming back again soon.

I just got my first classic car- 3 times my age and I googled for fun places I could drive to. The Wednesday car meet brought me here with my friends- we enjoyed the cruise over, the great food such as beef tallow fries, hospitality, love music, and on top of all that, I met a lot of fun people.Love the vibes. Try the homemade cheese sauce too! I got the polish sausage and fries this time. I’ll be back again to try something new.

Food was over the moon! Everything about the Italian beef and dog was on point. Plus any place that uses beef tallow for their fries is already winning! You can tell whomever is back on the line knows what they're doing and is making things in house. If you know food or have worked in good kitchens, it's all the little things that matter. Staff was very friendly and took their time answering my questions. If I was a local, I'd be a regular. 10 out of 10 from me!

A fun spot in long grove. HOT Dog sport pepper is made in house.That thing was super spicy and flavorful. It was the star of the show.It was super spicy and I had an excellent vanilla milk shake to cool off with.also they had a delicious non alcoholic beer called Al'sI want a jar of those sport peppers for home.

As a parent of a autism child who's my picky eater he LOVED it here. And our food was also VERY DELICIOUS as well we had the turkey sub and the burger. FRIENDLY AND FAST staff as well we will be DEFINITELY BE COMING BACK . Will also be RECOMMENDING!❤️

Just checked this place out. 50s themed diner with summer car show Wednesdays. Staff was great and they had old episodes of classic TV playing on the walls.The food really stood out. For the price, I can't recently remember a place with that much quality for the dollar. The burger was fantastic and the chicken sandwich was enormous. Frozen custard and milkshakes were great as well.

I was there on a Saturday and ordered an Italian beef with mozzarella, dipped.It...was...amazing!! I have been thinking about it for days! It was big enough to make 2 lunches out of it.

Best burgers and cheese steak in Lake County period

Wow! The biggest sport peppers I have ever seen. And the hot dog was good too. I guess there are other things on the menu, but I went in for a hot dog. And came out smiling.

Went there this past Saturday and honestly the food was good, had the italian beef with hot peppers on the side and the beef was very tender and a decent size for the price, Wife had a hot dog but they actually made a mistake on the order she asked for no onions and there was onions on it.And when the young lady walked it over to our table, she called it out by saying hot dog everything on it with no onions lol and the fries were definitely good, will be going back lets just not put onions on her hot dog lol

So happy we found our Wednesday night spot! The food was great, loved Al’s signature cheeseburger and the fries are incredible!!! The milkshakes were delicious! The staff is so sweet and welcoming! Cheyenne, Stephanie abs Todd went above and beyond with their service and care! My son loved all the cars and live music. Cheyenne took extra special care of us and made my son and daughters night! We can’t wait to go back to our new family spot!

Amazing addition to Long Groove. Great food. Friendly staffs. Super reasonable prices. Plenty of seating indoor and outdoor.We were charged Extra for cheese sauce with fries. The menu said $1 extra for cheese but we were charged $2. It’s not about a buck, its about transparency, should update prices in menu if things have changed.Besides that everything was great. Fun new place in town! We had the Philly Cheesesteak recommended to us and were very happy with the recommendation! The cheese and the caramelized onions were so tasty! I’m not big on french fries, but I really liked theirs! The Philly Cheesesteak and fries were big enough for my husband and I to share. The staff were very nice and helpful. We ordered 2 vanilla milkshakes to go for the kids and they loved them. Prices are reasonable too. We will be back to try more!

Such a cute and fun space. The staff is friendly and kind, and fast. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend the strawberry shake. The homemade strawberry pureè with the fresh daily made ice cream is so light and delicious. Todd and his team are great. Looking forward to our next visit.

My wife and I each had the Italian beef huge portion especially for the price, very flavorful, fries great large portions , super friendly service, we ordered to go, very short wait, observed cook asking dine in customers how was the food, unheard of in this day and age. Loved decor, We will return soon also telling family and friends.

Al’s Hot Dogs is so much more than a hot dog stand. The food is fantastic. The burgers are outstanding—juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The Italian beef sandwich with its au jus is one of the best I’ve had anywhere!The atmosphere is fun, casual, and incredibly kid-friendly, making it one of our favorite family spots.One of the coolest things I recently learned is that they don’t cook their food in seed oils. As someone who pays attention to ingredients, that was a huge bonus and something that’s becoming harder and harder to find. They also make their own sauces, which is so rare these days and really speaks to the quality and care behind the food.And whatever you do, don’t leave without trying one of their shakes—they’re absolutely delicious and the perfect finish to a great meal.Great food, great people, great atmosphere, and thoughtful ingredients. Al’s is a Long Grove gem!

We came in with 3 families ( 5 adults and 6 kids). The food was delicious and was delivered to our tables super quick. The staff was so friendly. They brought out the infamous kitchen sink ice cream dessert for our kids as a surprise with a sparkler in it. The kids LOVED it! We will definitely be coming back!

We had a big group with 5 adults and 6 six kids. They were very accommodating and had something everyone enjoyed. We mostly had burgers and hot dogs which were all good. The Als signature burger was delicious! The place is very cute, reasonably priced and family friendly. We’ll be back!

Great local Hot Dog 🌭 stand. The area has long been needing a spot like this. This squirrel 🐿️ and momma squirrel 🐿️ want a place to go and only 3 min from the house 🏠 the have good prices with good quality and portions size. The homemade cake, milkshake and banana 🍌 split 🍨 will make you forget about that diet. Looking forward to coming back
